What are Wordless Stories?

Wordless Stories are completely text-freeillustrated narratives that have a unique power to unlock and fire up young people’s interest in History. They are centered around Visual Literacy, the ability to ‘read’ pictures to acquire and retain knowledge.

They are designed for young people aged 12-19 years:

  • with Learning Disabilities
  • with behavioural and/or emotional challenges
  • who struggle with printed text
  • who struggle with attention span
  • with English as an Additional Language

These resources can be used with students as part of history lessons or wider development. They can be printed out or displayed on an interactive whiteboard or handheld devices.
