The Lord Leonard and Lady Estelle Wolfson Foundation was established in 2012 following the death of the late Lord Wolfson in 2010.
He directed that a part of his estate be used to fund a charity working in the field of preventative medicine. Indeed the official name of the Foundation is The Lord Leonard and Lady Estelle Wolfson Charitable Trust for Preventative Medicine. His written wishes were that Lady Wolfson should continue his good work and play an important role during her lifetime in championing the work he so loved and found personally fulfilling.
During their 19 years of marriage Lord and Lady Wolfson were acknowledged as amongst the UK’s leading philanthropists providing around £35 million a year for a variety of worthy causes in the fields of scientific and medical research, education and the arts, through the Wolfson Foundation a charity established by Lord Wolfson and his parents.
